MBA was created to give Muslim students at Baruch a professional community where ambition and faith are not treated as separate parts of student life. Today, members build practical skills, learn from experienced professionals, develop lasting relationships, and prepare for demanding careers within a community that understands both where they are headed and what they value.
Where we started
Built by students who wanted more than a professional network.
Baruch prepares students for demanding careers. What was missing was a space where Muslim students could prepare for those careers without leaving part of themselves outside the room.
MBA grew from that need: a place where questions about internships, interviews, leadership, faith, and professional life can sit in the same conversation.
Members now organize events, lead initiatives, mentor one another, and connect the community with alumni and professionals whose experience helps make the next step clearer.

Questions we get often
- Do I need a finance or business background?
- No. MBA members come from across Baruch. Workshops are designed to be accessible, and BIIRG teaches its research process to students who may be encountering financial analysis for the first time.
- Do I have to be Muslim to join?
- No. MBA exists to serve and support Muslim students, but students who respect the organization’s mission and values are welcome to participate.
- How much time does membership require?
- General MBA participation is flexible and event-based. BIIRG requires a more consistent weekly commitment because members work within research divisions and contribute to recurring deliverables.
- Is there a membership fee?
- Membership requirements and any semester-specific fees are communicated by the executive board. Contact us before applying if you would like the current details.
